The Obituary

Ms. Willie Jean Davis, affectionately known as “Perry” to some and “Pop” to others was born on April 24, 1947 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Cap Davis, Jr. and Birtha Mae Williams Davis. She attended Empress Elementary and Washington Street High in the Brooks County School system. Afterwards, she decided to relocate to Florida for several years, before returning home to Quitman with her children.

Ms. Perry was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was caring, fun loving and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family members. Her strong will and determination was noticed by everyone that knew her.

She passed from this earthly life on January 22, 2021. She will always be remembered in a special, loving way. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings Earnest Lee Davis and Gladys Mae Williams.

Ms. Perry leaves to cherish her loving, sweet memories to her three sons Valentino Maurice Henry, Quitman, GA, Nugent Terrell Henry, Zephyrhills, FL, Bryan Keith Davis, Quitman, GA and one daughter Toni Rene Cowser (Lionel), Quitman, GA; her siblings Clara Lee Davis, Bradenton, FL, Cassie Davis, Quitman, GA, Annie Jane Davis, Mariana FL, Elijah Davis (Linda), Northport, FL; aunts Gladys Hooks, Valdosta, GA, Dorothy Collier, Sarasota, FL; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 11AM at North End Cemetery with Craig King, speaker. Visitation will be Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 3PM-7PM.
