Forever In Our Hearts

BETTY LOU ALLEN was born August 18, 1946, in Quitman, GA, to the late Mitchell and Aretha Tonsil. Betty Lou transitioned on January 28, 2021.

Betty Lou attended the Brooks County School system. After high school, she moved to Miami, FL, then to New York where she married Kenneth Allen who preceded her in death. Kenneth and Betty Lou were blessed with a son Ricky Walker. After the birth of their son, Betty Lou moved back to Florida then to Quitman, GA where she remained until her death.

After returning to Quitman, she became a member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church. Betty Lou was employed by Micro-Craft factory where she worked until her retirement. Betty Lou was known for her love, laughter, beautiful smile and caring heart. Those that knew her know that her family was really important to her.

Betty Lou Allen is survived by her Son Ricky Walker; Sisters: Mrs. Louise (Grady Jr.) Walton, Mrs. Diane (Billy Sr.) Watson of Miami, FL and Mrs. Mae (Rawn) Kearson of Orlando, FL; Aunts: Jenoria Henson of Orlando, FL and Annie Ruth Travis of Quitman, GA; Nieces: Elaine Etienne, Vanessa (Kevin) Craig, Barbara Hudson, Tenecia Knight and Shatonya Knight; Nephews: Lester Hallman, John (Sophia) Davis, Leroy (LaShawn) Knight, Tommy (Michelle) Knight, Billy Watson Jr., Terry Watson, Antonio (Shantell) Kearson and Jeremy (Jocelyne) Kearson; God-Son: Demetrius (Angela) Hadley. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of other family members and sorrowing friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 3PM at North End Cemetery with Apostle Jarvis Travis, eulogist. Visitation will be Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 4PM-7PM.
