Derry was a graduate of Magnolia High School. He later joined the Navy and after serving for many years, Derry went on to work at the paper mill and on the pokey boat until he retired. Derry was joined in Holy matrimony to Denise Doyle on August 9, 2003. Derry and Denise resided together in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina then they relocated to Gautier and raised their boys. Derry loved all of his children. He enjoyed preaching, eating, cooking for family and friends, and being surrounded by his loved ones. For several years, Derry served as the Sr. Elder of The Power of Deliverance Church as well as the Sunday school superintendent, and coordinator of the Fred and Mary Foodbank. Derry was a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated member of the body of Christ and worked unto the Lord all the days of his life.
Elder Derry was preceded in death by his parents, aunt and uncle, brother(s), Tommie Doyle, Charles Jackson (Gwenda), Jimmie Jones, Willie N. Jones, and Samuel Jones, Jr. (Nadine). Derry leaves to honor his memory, his wife, Denise Doyle, sons, Dennis Conerly (Elizabeth), Darren Collins, Sr. (Jessica); daughters, Shikia Hurd (Willie), and Juaquina Richardson; 13 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, and an abundance of relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 4:00-5:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021 in Millender's Funeral Chapel, 4412 Main Street, Moss Point, Mississippi.
Funeral services for Elder Derry Doyle will be held, Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Machpelah Cemetery, Machpelah Road, Pascagoula, Mississippi. The service will begin promptly at 11:00 a. m. The family of Elder Derry Doyle has entrusted his care to the professional staff of Millinder’s Funeral Home.
