What can I say. Alex and Kayte were my second parents. When I was at school at NCA&T, They took me in and made me feel like their daughter. I have so many fond memories of them both. Alex took me to buy my 2nd car (Pinto wagon). It was a 4-speed. I had no idea how to drive a stick. Alex and Michael taught me how to drive it. Alex and Katie came to Connecticut with Michael and I to see my family. It was such a fun vacation going to New York and other sightseeing stops while up there. I think I really surprised Alex when I ate his chitterlings. I have never had them before and I ate had some of Michael's first. I don't remember what the occasion but, I went to put some on a plate and Alex said are you sure you're going to eat those. I said yes I had some and like them. He said okay just make sure you don't waste them. I ate them and surprised him. After college I still stop by to visit whenever I drove through Greensboro. I hate that those visits became farther and farther apart. Those visits were always the highlight of my trips. Until we met again. Lots of Love always. Cynthia(Cindy)Marbury

Hey Dad. Well the time has come - much sooner than I'd wished or thought - for you move-on from this physical experiment called life. You've received your "Angel Wings" and transcended to the Spiritual Realm to commune with loved ones, the ancestors and Our Creator, The LORD. Its difficult my not being there to see you off, nor having been able to visit you in over a year because of this pandemic, but I'll forever cherish our last visit (in January 2019), all our phone conversations in the interim, and all the past visits too. When the hour arrives each evening its been difficult not to reach out to call you in Greensboro to see how your day went, and to make sure you TV channel was set to whatever sports event was happening that evening, most often ending our talks with your favorite saying ... "Hold it in the road". Smiles. "Thanks" for always being there for me when I've needed you most, for your guidance, love and your individual examples of "all" the things it takes to be a "true" Man in this land of the free, the brave. I salute you Father for this and so very, very much more. Rest in Heavenly Power Sir. Give Mom a great big ole kiss, hug for me. Love you Dad, Your Devoted son - Michael
