Obituary For Betty J Woodie

Mrs. Betty Jo Woodie was born March 10, 1930 to Lurlean Davenport and William Long in Tacoma, Washington. She transitioned peacefully on February 8, 2021.

She was educated in the Gadsden City School System and confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She had an infectious laugh and was a very joyful and friendly person. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert Boyd.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter: Theresa Woodie Johnson; a step-daughter: Tammy Jackson. Sister in law: Ella (Bobby) Hall; Brothers in Law: Paul Boyd, Charles Boyd and Joe Boyd. Grandchildren: Andrea (David) Fitzpatrick, Andreanette Johnson and James Johnson. Great Grandchildren: Summer, Cemarea, Harper, Briah, Wynter, Micah, Aiyanna and Noelle. Special Grandchildren: Trena Lindsey, Jay Cammeron, Peachtree City, Ga. God Daughter: Tara Boyd God Son: Rodney Cannon, Hampton VA. Special sister and life-long friend Johnnie Austin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends.

Public Viewing and visitation with the family will be Friday, February 12, 2021 5 P.M.- 7 P.M at West Gadsden Chapel Graveside Services will be 1 P.M Saturday, February 13,2021 at the Lincoln Hill Cemetery

Mrs Betty was a warm caring person and a big member of the "Village" when she lived in 6th Street, she helped look after everybody's children and she could be firm if she needed to be.
