Obituary For Mr. William Aubrey Ferrell

Graniteville, SC-Mr. William Aubrey Ferrell entered into rest Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Elmcroft of Martinez, Georgia.

William Aubrey Ferrell was a native of Alpharetta, Georgia. He was born June 7, 1941 to Virginia Rayner Ferrell and William Hershel Ferrell.

He served twenty years in the United States Marine Corps. and worked for Fort McPherson and Capital City Golf Club.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine Hopper Ferrell;two sons, Jeffrey Lee Ferrell and Mark Phillip Ferrell; daughter, Dina Renee Ledford; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Jane Fowler and Sandra Westbrooks.

Funeral services will be private.

I met then Sgt Ferrell in 1966 in Memphis, TN. I was a very young PFC and Will was a knowledgeable SGT. We were in a briefing to inform us about all the aviation options to choose in the Corps. He asked me quietly what I was going to choose. I had no idea and he leaned close and whispered, "Air Traffic Control" It had neve entered my mind, but I did choose that field. Best advice I could have been given! I have thanked him many times! Pat Owen
