Obituary For Frenzola Mickle

Frenzola Mickle was born in Gaston County on March 30, 1948 and passed on February 09, 2021 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in Bessemer City, NC in 1965. She was actively involved in organizations in high school and was a member of the Knights of the Round Table English IV-1 and member of the Sociology, Science, Athletic and Chorus Clubs. Frenzola also served on the Yearbook staff with typing skills which assisted with the completion of the Yearbook. “Fren,” as she was affectionately called, was also the secretary of the N.H. A. (New Homemakers of America). She attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC and majored in education. Frenzola returned to Gastonia, NCand began a career with the Gaston County Public School System. She initially worked with the Head Start Program and then taught Elementary School in Gaston County until her retirement.

Frenzola was a member of Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church all of her life and was an active church member. She was a Patron Member of the WHOM, Director of Children’s Church, Deacon’s Board, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, Bible Scholar and an eloquent speaker which allowed her to provide our church family with awesome Mother’s Day presentations on several occasions. On the York Chester District: She was Recording secretary of the Lay Council, and Director of Youth of the Christian Education Department. Her community activity included being a member of the Orchid Temple #93 of the Molock Elks Lodge of Gastonia. She faithfully served as the secretary of the Temple for many years. Other community involvement entailed working with projects which enabled low -income children access to a better education and seniors who needed assistance. She was preceded by death by her parents Lonnie Mickle and Iva Lee Jackson Mickle.

(Amanda) Ervin of Raleigh, NC, Brittany Ervin of Raleigh, NC, Brandie Ervin of Spartanburg, SC, Eugina Ervin of Albemarle, NC, Tyrice Ervin Jr. of Union, SC, Curtis Ervin of Gastonia, NC, Clarence Houston of Charlotte, NC, Willie Mae Switzer of Charlotte, NC, James (Faye) Houston of Charlotte, NC, Tony Mickle of Charlotte, NC, Ethel Maye Watson of FL, Crystal (Lee) Watson of FL, Melvin (Peggy) Watson, Jr. of Dallas, NC, Larry (Mary) Watson of Dallas, NC, Taft (Crystal Ann) Watson of Dallas, NC, Robert (Hermeta) Watson of Gastonia, NC, and Matthew (Linda) Watson of SC and a host of cousins, friends and her church family.

Viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday; February 17, 2021 from 5 until 7 and on Thursday beginning at 10:00 until 1:00

Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.

Interment: Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church Cemetery, Gastonia
