Obituary For Eloise Felton
On Thursday, February 4, 2021, our all-wise God called our precious mother, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend, Mother Eloise Felton home from her labor to her eternal rest. She was born on May 23, 1929 to the late James Felton and the late Julia Felton in Portsmouth, Virginia. Eloise was a light of joy that shined so bright. A faithful member of Holy Light Church of Deliverance under Bishop Samuel L. Carruth for 17 years. The Lord lead her to assist the Holy Trinity Ministry under the late Pastor Irene Trent and therefore devoted her service for over 30 years. Eloise served on the Mother Board, taught Sunday School and all who knew her knew that she was a powerful Prayer Warrior. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, James and Julia Felton; one daughter, Shirley Council; four sons, Jerome Council, James Felton, Joseph Council and William Council; three sisters, Bernice Gaines, Beatrice Montgomery and Ada Felton. Eloise leaves to cherish her loving memories to her daughter, Elouise Davis of Chesapeake, Virginia; two sons, David Council of Portsmouth, Virginia and Micheal Council of Lynchburg, Virginia; one son-in-law, Thaddeus Davis of Chesapeake, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Tremeka Council of Newark, New Jersey, Lajerricka Moss of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jada Council, of Gretna, Virginia, Jason Council of Gretna, Virginia, Jermayne Waller of Lynchburg, Virginia, Elijah Council of Gretna, Virginia, Kristine Greene of Lynchburg, Virginia, Jerome Council of Portsmouth, Virginia; two favorite nieces, Catherine Taylor, Frances “Elizabeth” Twitty, and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Fri. Feb. 12 at 12 noon in Steele-Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
