Obituary For Alberta Millner

Alberta Millner, 85, of Stultz Rd., Martinsville, VA, departed this life on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Virginia, on October 4, 1935, the daughter of the late Georgia Mae Robertson Dandridge and the late Arthur Dandridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Millner; one daughter, Deadra Clark; and two sisters, Lucy Mae Dandridge and Mary Dandridge; and one brother, Arthur Dandridge, Jr.

Alberta was a member of Mt Pisgah Joyland Temple. She graduated from the Martinsville Training School and retired from United Hospital Port Chester N.Y. as a cashier.

Alberta leaves to cherish her memory; three sisters, Sarah Jane Gamble (Charlie) of Martinsville, VA; Lula Watkins of Rocky Mtn., VA; and Blanche Scott (Broadus) of Martinsville, VA; two grandchildren, Rodrigues CLark (Rakisha) of Bridgeport, CT; and Tihira Clark of Martinsville, VA; and two great grandchildren, Neshon Clark of Bridgeport, CT; and Tylan Belcher of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at The C.R.V. Hairston Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, with Dr. Charles Whitfield, Eulogist. A public viewing will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering and social distancing is required. All other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her granddaughter, Tihira Clark, 608 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, VA.
