Obituary For Carolyn Russell Brown

Mrs. Carolyn Russell Brown of Talladega, 74, passed away on February 9, 2021. There are not any funeral service arrangements to announce at this time.

Carolyn Russell Rogers-Brown, age 74, went home to be with the LORD on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at her home. She was born to the late Dock Russell Sr. and Annie Wheeler Underwood-Russell on January 27, 1947.

Carolyn went to Westside High School in Talladega, Alabama, shortly relocating to New Jersey where she met and married the late Wallace Rogers, Jr. While pursuing her career in nursing she graduated from Bergen Community College and later remarried to Eversley Brown. Carolyn gave her life to God at an early age and became a member of Soul Saving Station in Paterson, NJ under the leadership of the late Pastor Gloria Floyd. She later became an active member of Soul Saving Station for Every Nation in Harlem, NY under the leadership of Reverend Jessie I. Winley. Carolyn relocated back to her hometown, Talladega, AL, where she remained until God called her home.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Eversley Brown; two daughters, Ronda Rogers of Garfield, NJ now residing in Talladega and Camilla Brown of Hackensack, NJ; two bonus children, Clarence Brown and Denise Brown both of Hackensack NJ; two grandchildren, Kamontavian Antionivich Rogers of Hawthorne, NJ and Kenyaei-Rah A’sianne Rodney of Glenrock, NJ; two great grandchildren, Kori Alana Rogers and Kaylee Ana Rogers; five sisters, Annie Storey of Talladega, Dorothy Whitsett of California, Delois (Eddie) Fikes of Birmingham, Linda (Larry) Brantley of Atlanta and Joyce Babbs of Birmingham; four brothers, Walter (Mary) Russell, Dock (Catherine) Russell, James Russell of Talladega and David Russell of Atlanta; two special nieces, Wanda Russell of Hackensack and Sharon Rogers of Birmingham; one special nephew/son, Tracy Russell of Atlanta; a special cousin, Jeannie Pettaway; two Goddaughters, Annette Dean of New Jersey and Jackie Wilson of South Carolina; and a gathering of nieces, nephews, and people who love her.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents Dock and Annie Russell; three sisters, Peggy Hairston, Paulette Russell and Betty Jennings; and a bonus son, Ricky Brown. She was well known and loved by many.

My aunt Carolyn, is one of my favorites. I had the chance to grow from a child to my adult life. She has always treated me with love and everything that follows. She taught me alot of things as I was growing up but one of the most important thing she taught me that was so precious is the Lord Prayer, the 23rd Psalms that I apply to my everyday life till this day. I'm dedicating it to you this day. Auntie, you are dwelling in the house of the Lords forever now, Rest In Peace. You're loving your best life now. I love you and will definitely miss you.
