On September 24, 1943, Emma Jean Davis was born to the union of Young Davis, Jr. and Hattie Mae Roberson Davis in Talladega County, Alabama.
Ms. Davis dedicated her life to Christ at a young age and made Mt. Cleveland Missionary Baptist Church her church home. She was educated in the schools of Talladega County concluding at Talladega County Training School. She worked in various domestic capacities and in private duty childcare.
In the early of hours of Thursday, February 18, 2021, Emma began her eternal rest at Hospice of West Alabama. She was preceded in passing by a son, Terence Davis; a granddaughter, Alene Davis; one great granddaughter, Aaliyah Henderson; her parents, Young Davis, Jr. and Hattie M. Davis; and two brothers, Lloyd N. Davis and Carl L. Davis.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters, Margaret Davis of Talladega, Alabama and Lisa Dixon (Karl) Jones of Oxford, Alabama; two sons, George (Erica) Davis of Birmingham, Alabama and Eugene Davis of Cartersville, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, Quinnice Davis, Quincy Davis, Tiffany Davis, Daniel Davis, Jazmine Davis, Kendrick Stockdale, Mishawn S. (Joseph) Davis-Smith, George E. Davis Jr., Angela D. Davis, Eric Anthony Davis, Destiny A. (Isaac) Dixon-Harper and Karl A. Jones Jr.; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Turner of Eastaboga, Alabama and Mary (Rueben) Smith of Talladega, Alabama; one brother, Larry Garrett of Talladega, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
