On behalf of Wakemed Club Reach, I would like to offer comfort and condolences to the family and friends of Mrs Thelma. First of all, Mrs Thelma was well loved as an employee of Wakemed and her presence was truly missed once she left Wakemed. When she became a member of our day program, Club Reach, she loved being back at Wakemed and would try to find ways to sneak away to visit her friends. Most of the time she was very successful at sneaking away and we would find her working with flowers, talking or cleaning LOL! I can still recall calling Celeste and Mrs Thelma would say "she thinks she is my momma" !! 😀I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to spend time with and love on Mrs Thelma when she was in our program. Thanks Portia Walton

My memories of Thelma are filled with laughter, tears and deep conversations on God's faithfulness. Driving to NY, taking Ernie to his summer intership, cooking together, and our shared love of plants, were precious moments I will cherish. I pray that knowing you are finally home with our Savior give the Suggs family comfort.....Martelle Walker

My Thelma, a true friend, a Godly friendship. A 25 year friendship where we expected nothing in return from one another but instead gave each other more than words can express. We shared secrets. laughter, compassion, kindness, and forgiveness but most of all we shared a deep and everlasting bond. Thelma was a friend I could rejoice with, cry with, travel with, but most of all she was a friend that would comfort you when you needed it most. Although, my heart is heavy--know that I will always love, cherish, and miss you! Rest In Peace my friend. Until we meet again! Celeste Maddox and Family

Restoration Christian Church Resolution Mrs. Thelma Suggs No matter what your trials are, or how big your mountain seems; the Lord is always there; to see you through. The Lord has granted revelation knowledge of His Word and He has assured us victory in every circumstance; even in moments of grief and sorrow. There is an appropriate time for every human activity and/or event; "For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die." He has brought to close the life of Ms. Thelma Suggs, the officers and members of Restoration Christian Church, Raleigh, North Carolina, feels it is befitting that we express our sincere sympathy to the family of Ms. Thelma Suggs. BE IT RESOLVED, that we bow in humble submission to Him who never makes a mistake and remind the family to be encouraged by remembering this poem. When I must leave you for a little while Please do not grieve and shed wild tears Or hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile, And for my sake and in my name Live on and do all things the same, Feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways, Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you and hold you near, And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky! Author Unknown BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that a copy of this resolution be given to the family and a copy kept in the church archives. To the family, we know your loss is deep, and your sorrow is great, but we want you to know that we share in your sorrow, but we rejoice in knowing that the Word of God assures us, to be absent from this earthly body is to be present with our Lord and King. Sister is my Sister-In-Law. I was married to the late Bro (Thurman) Suggs. The first time Sister visited us in Chsrlotte, after she got out of the car she made the comment "this yard need some color and flowers 🌸 💐 🌺 . I need to put my hands in this dirt." "Brenda after I put my suitcase 🧳 in the house, I will ride with you to Lowe's and I will show you what flowers to get for your yard." Bro drove us to Lowe's to get the flowers, Of course Bro and Sister got into a debate on what flowers to buy. We let Sister picked out the flowers she thought we need for the yard. When we got back home to plant the flowers, I asked Sister if she wanted gloves, she said "NO, Brenda don't ever plant flowers with gloves on. You have to dig in the dirt with your bare hands and talk to the flowers so they know you love ❤️ them. To this day, when I am pulling weeds or planting flowers in the yard, I am bare handed and talking to my flowers. I have to admit the flowers are beautiful during the spring. I still have the Azalea bushes we planted years ago on her very first visit to our home in Charlotte. I will miss you Sister. Rest In Peace and let Bro know me and the children miss him so much. Brenda, Tory, Shardan and Shard'e.
