Obituary For Mr. Franklin "Gene" Barr

Franklin Eugene Barr, son of the late James A. and Christeen P. Barr was born on Tuesday, June 7, 1960 in Dillon County, South Carolina.

Franklin received his education in the public schools system in Dillon, South Carolina. He loved the Lord, making people laugh, and watching the Lakers and Eagles play. He was a member of Door of Hope Christian Church, Marion, South Carolina.

He was employed at Doug Miller Plumbing and Electrical for thirty plus years until his health failed. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by others for his joyous spirit and infectious laugh.

On Thursday, February 19, 2021, he gained his wings with his devoted wife, Juliette Barr, by his side. He was preceded in death along with his parents; his son, Nicholas Eugene Barr.

Memories of his life will be cherished by his lovely wife: Juliette Barr of the home; two daughters: Sharris {Ontae} Morrison of Dillon, SC and Tameika {Christopher} Smiling of Latta, SC; eight grandchildren: Aaron Barr, Nigel Morrison, Shaqui Cabbagetalk, Nicholas Smiling, Ontaeja Morrison, Deziah Smiling, Alexander Smiling, Naomi Rose Smiling; two great grandchildren: Aaryona Barr and King Barr; two sisters: Christeen Patton of Jasper, TN, Mary Barr McGill of Dillon, SC; one brother: Herbert {Fran} Barr of Upper Marlboro, MD; aunt: Virgie Peppers of Dillon, SC; five sisters-n-law: Barbara {Raymond} Felton of Charlotte, NC, Maggie McFadden of Latta, SC, Brenda McFadden of Sellers, SC Jessie Ann McFadden of Marion, SC, Tana {Gregory} Martin of Latta, SC; three brothers-n-law: Charlie McFadden Jr. of Sellers, SC, Leroy {Bashiyra} McFadden of Lawrenceville, GA, Carlson McFadden of Charlotte, NC; a god-daughter: Natricia Drake; special friends: Von Dixon, Kenneth Goings, Kelvin Drake, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
