Athens--Rodney Devon Blanton, 60, Athens, transitioned February 18, 2021 in Athens, TX. He was born September 9, 1960 in Athens, Texas to the late Billy Beasley and Julia Mae Blanton.

He attended Athens Public Schools, was a lifelong resident of Henderson County, and was a retired car salesman and FedEx employee.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Lenora Brown.

Left to cherish his memories are: one son, Jacob Blanton, Athens; four daughters, Whitney Blanton, Brittany Blanton (Brayshon Killingsworth), and Jaden Blanton all of Athens, and Natashia K. Davis, New Braunfels; three sisters, Pastor Karen Fuller (Roosevelt), Malva Wideman (Robert) both of Athens, and Michelle York (Christopher), Longview; eight grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews, cousins, and friends.
