Michael Lynn Holmes

05/21/1963 - 02/19/2021

We are all flowers in the garden of life. Each day when God gets ready to make up his bouquet, he goes out into the garden and selected a rose which has sprouted and burst in to full bloom. While he was looking in the garden on Friday evening, February 19, 2021, he looked into the HOUSE and saw the perfect rose to add to his bouquet. He quickly reached down and gently selected me, (Michael Lynn Holmes).

A Time to Live

Michael was born May 21, 1963 in Jackson, MS. He was the last born of 10 children, to the late Mr. Joe Spencer Holmes and Mrs. Annie Pearl Cooper Holmes. As a young believer in Christ he said, “If I have faith and trust in him, he would never leave me nor forsake me”. Michael attended Byram Attendance Center and Hinds Community College. For relaxation he loved fishing and FAMILY night watching movies. He had an unwitting sense of humor that was infectious to anyone around him. While on earth, he tried to sow seeds of love, compassion, and wisdom to all those that he met.

A Time to Work

Michael was no stranger to hard work. Oftentimes working 2 jobs to provide for his family. For years he was a butcher, a labor worker at a major retail store (Walmart), Advance Auto,Tyson, DG Foods and lastly he was a Winder at Hitachi Power Grids where he was respected by his coworkers for the kind and gentle soul that he was. Heaven is a little brighter because of his light.
