Obituary For Mr. Derek Granberry, Sr.

On February 21st, Derek Granberry, Sr. of Greenwood, Florida passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior at the age of 45.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Greater Buckhorn Missionary Baptist Church.

D-Roc, as he was affectionately called leaves treasured memories with his mother, Jennett McNealy and husband Anthony of Marianna, Florida; loving fiance’, Stacy Williams of Greenwood, Florida; five children, Tacara Granberry, Derek Granberry, Jr., Deontrey Granberry, O’Shun Granberry and Jasmine Granberry all of Marianna, Florida; five grandchildren, Deaveion, Kalil, Maliah, London and Maliah; four uncles, Wallace Washington and wife Janice of Campbellton, Florida, Napolean Washington of St. Joseph, California, Min. Edward Davis of Denver, Colorado and Lougene Bruton and wife Faith of Winter Haven, Florida; three aunts, Rosa Granberry of Orlando, Florida, Alicia Johnson of Tallahassee, Florida and Patricia Scholtz and husband Lewis of Sebring, Florida; a lifelong friend like a brother, James Jones, Jr. of Marianna, Florida; special friends, Mark Lang, Carlton Curry, Michael Curry, Ervin Sims, Craig Hanolin, Walter Robinson, Rod Robinson, Chris Baker, Richard Baker all of Marianna, Florida and Leroy Ferguson of Greenwood, Florida; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be held Friday, February 26th from 2-6p.m.

A homegoing celebration will be held graveside Saturday, February 27th at 1p.m. at the Greater Buckhorn Church Cemetery with Bishop John McMillion, Min. Hardy Hill, Min. James Rhynes, Rev. Titus Clayton, Min. Edward Davis and Min. Helen Dawson officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
