Our Dearly Beloved Hazel Virginia Johnson

Mrs. Hazel Virginia Johnson, daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. James and Ethel Brandon was born September 11, 1939 in Oxford, North Carolina. Hazel married the late Philip Enoch Johnson, and to this union were born four children. In the early 1960’s, they relocated to New York City (Manhattanville Houses). Hazel attended and completed Business School before moving on to many prosperous positions; including Merri9ll Lynch and Company. She enjoyed working there. During the late 1970’s, Hazel moved to an advertising company called Mask-O-Neg. She wo9rked closely with the executives of that company and they all took a liking to the way she performed her duties. Hazel became well known while working there, but with sadness, she had to leave. Because of her illness, Hazel did not let that get her down. She started doing things at home to keep herself busy. She loved to cook and create many dishes. Many of us would request our favorites. Hazel was also known for her exquisite decorating style; for which everyone admired and complimented her. She was also musically inclined; enjoyed singing and listening to good spiritual music. Hazel always had a warm heart and a listening ear for all in times of need or crisis. Hazel departed this life Sunday, January 17, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memories, one sister, Dorothy Mills, Bronx, NY: one daughter, Paulette (Cookie) Johnson, Bronx, NY; three sons, Philip Johnson, Jr., New York, NY, Reginald Johnson, Yonkers, NY and Kenneth Johnson (Deceased); one daughter-in-law, Juanita Johnson, Yonkers, NY: six grandchildren, Arlene (Yvette) Robinson, Cortlandt Manor, NY, Tiara Johnson, New York, NY, Sheri Daniel Been, Virginia, Cory Johnson, Bronx, NY, Joel Johnson, NY, Philip, Johnson, ILL; one step-daughter/granddaughter, Lisa Finch, Branford, CT, Josie Josephine Kliucius, Branford, CT; three great grandchildren, Gayla Robinson, Cortlandt Manor, NY, Takiya Coker, Bronx, NY and a host of nieces, nephews family and friends. Love and Respected by many. We know you had to leave us. We will not ask God why. We only wish we’d had the chance to say to you “Good-bye,” You’ll always be in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers each day. The things you shared and taught us in your own special way. Although we’ve said “God knows best”, we’ll try hard not to mourn. Now, you are at rest in your new Peaceful Home.
