OBITUARY:

Cornelius Claiborne, affectionately known as "C.C" was born on December 4, 1958 in Tchula, MS to L.M. and Mae Alma Claiborne. He was the baby boy of seven children.

He graduated from TAC in 1976 and joined the United States Air Force upon graduation at the age of 17. He took pride in working as a jet mechanic while stationed in Louisiana, California, and Okinawa, Japan. His experience in the Air Force taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause greater than himself. He received several medals including the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award among many others. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Fleetwood in Lexington, MS.

CC was a member of Thornton Masonic Lodge 132 in Thornton, MS. He was an outdoors man and he enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. He was a skilled craftsman and was great with making things with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Joe Nathan Patterson, Johnnie Mac Patterson, and Alma Jean "Debbie" Claiborne.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Patricia Brown Claiborne, three children, Jeff(Carolyn) Claiborne, Kathryn(Cedric) Alexander, and Keshondra Claiborne; Eight grandchildren: Tyler Claiborne, Landon Claiborne, Braelyn Claiborne, Denisha Alexander, Devin Alexander, Dylan Alexander, Delany Alexander and Kylan Keith; two sisters, Susie(Lee)McGary and Melva(Vernon)Hudson; two brothers; LM (Delmethric)Claiborne and Maurice(Lucille)Corinth; a special nephew he considered a brother Marty(Barbara)Claiborne, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My sincerest condolences to the Claiborne family. I had the privilege of working with C.C. while stationed in Okinawa during the early 1990's. C.C. was my supervisor and a mentor to me.
