Mrs. Jackson was passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students and children from several types of communities. In 2018, she founded the Globe Trotters World Education Program and worked directly with the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA. She received many honors for her work via sponsorships and scholarships to provide funding for all children. The State of Georgia Educator has taught thousands of children throughout her 40-year career, spanning over generations of families in several districts. Her fine arts programming reached Hancock County, Taliaferro County, Newton County, Greene County, and Putnam County.
The Diva was a second-generation legacy and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She was a proud member of Historic Springfield Baptist Church. She wrote more than 200 articles for the Herald-Journal in Greensboro, GA, in which she recorded the history of the church as a contribution to her faith in GOD. Further, she gave much love and time to children in the Greensboro area through her Magnificent Monday, Terrific Tuesday, and Wonderful Wednesday programming. Her acts of service also extended to front-line workers and public service officials through monthly dinner sponsorships. Though she did much more, there will never be enough ink or paper that can truly capture all of her good deeds. She loved to travel and spent celebratory times in her Johns Creek home, "The Villa."
She loved her children with her husband throughout her lifetime with no limitations. Ida is survived by her husband, Raymond B. Jackson, and her four children: Ryan B. Jackson, Cliff R. Jackson, Ian Z.C. Jackson, and Lyrric M.R. Jackson. She is also survived by her Daughter-in-Law, Tia Jackson, and her two grandchildren, Zian C. Jackson and Nia G. Jackson.
