Donald retired in 2006 after many years of service in the trucking transportation industry.
Mr. Thompson's love for helping others was the force behind his fifty year tenure as a faithful servant of Jehovah, providing guidance and structure as an Elder.
Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: his wife of fifty-nine years, Lillie Mae; his children, Teresa Cromer, Donald Thompson, Jr. (Darlene), Raymond Thompson (Sandy), Valerie Hudson (Dedric) and Tamika Hudson (Clarence); his eighteen grandchildren; his ten great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Maggie Thompson; and his sister, Dorothy Thompson.
Private Memorial Services will be held for Donald Thompson via zoom on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.
Mr. Thompson will lie in state on February 27, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. for public viewing at the chapel.
