Obituary For Joe King, Sr.

Joe Thomas King, Sr., 56, entered eternal rest Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He was born on November 5, 1964 in Lancaster County, South Carolina. He was the son of Beulah Clyburn King and the late Willie J. King Sr. He was married to Marie Anita King. Joe accepted Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Later in life, he joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of Damascus Masonic Lodge #62. Joe was educated in the Lancaster County School System. He was a 1983 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School.

In May of 1984, Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and faithfully served his country on Active Duty and as a Naval Reservist Joe retired from Springs Industries.

Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joe T. King, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories are his wife, Anita of Lancaster, SC; one daughter, Tiffany M. King of Lancaster, SC; his mother, Beulah C. King; two sisters, Arlene Flowers (James) of Arlington, TX and Shirley King of Orange Park, FL; six brothers, Wille J. King, Jr. and Leonard King (Mary) of Kershaw, SC, Larry L. King of Lancaster, SC, Michael King of Heath Springs, SC, Howard King (Darlene) of Dacula, GA, Tommy King of Manassas, VA and Shawn Carelock of Kershaw, SC; one grandson, Canon Robinson of Lancaster, SC.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Services will be conducted by Reverend Willie J. Duncan.

Viewing will be 2:00 – 5:00 pm Sunday at Stewart Funeral Home.
