Mr. Monroe Williams, 69, of Columbus, GA passed Thursday, February 25, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Coolsprings Baptist Church (New Cemetery). Visitation is Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. EST.

Monroe Williams was born May 29, 1951 in Pittsview, AL to the late Monroe Lockhart and the late Jessie B. Williams.

Affectionately known as “June Boy” to his family, he loved spending time with his friends, laughing, and having fun. Monroe was a kind and caring person, and most importantly he loved his family. Monroe received his education in the Russell County, Alabama School System.

At an early age, he acknowledged, confessed, and embraced his faith in God. It was this early acknowledgement and acceptance of faith that guided him through a life of servitude and humility. He was a member of The Safehouse of Rose Hill Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Verna Williams; brothers, Matthew Williams, David Williams, MC Williams, Moses Williams, Ulysses Williams and Sammie Williams; sisters, Lela Bell Williams, Mollye Clayton and Mary E. Hoskins.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving son, Adrian Williams of Columbus, GA; five sisters, Rosie M. Wright of Nocatee, FL, Patricia Porter of Pittsview, AL, Eddye M. Jacobs of Columbus, GA, Jessie B. Woods of Phenix City, AL and Bernice (Ronald) Graham of Orlando, FL; two sisters-in-law, Lizzie M. Williams and Bobbie A. Williams of Pittsview, AL; one brother-in-law, Sampson Hoskins of Nocatee, FL; two grandchildren, Cameron King and Randall Duncans of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a great grandchild, Akvria Brown of Ft Lauderdale, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
