Obituary For Willie Mae Drayton

Funeral services for Willie Mae Drayton, 89, of Forrest Hills, New York will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Allendale Community Funeral Home with Reverend Bernice Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms. Willie Mae Drayton, was daughter of the late Willie Drayton and Emma Brown. She was born in Allendale, South Carolina (Beldoc Community) on August 31, 1931. At an early age, she joined and became a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She attended the public schools of Allendale County and later furthered her education to become a registered nurse. Willie Mae was an outgoing person who had a loving, warm smile that will never be forgotten. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and family time was important to her. She was a happy, proud lady and was the person to go to if you needed advice. Willie Mae will be remembered as an independent, strong person that knew how to handle her business.

She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and two sons: Joseph J. Drayton and Lawrence Drayton.

Willie Mae leaves to cherish her fond memories, six grandchildren: Angel Drayton, Tammy Drayton, Gwendolyn Drayton, Sabrina Drayton, Curtis Drayton and Lawrence “Berdie” Drayton all of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of great grandchildren and other loving family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 5-7 p.m.

The Queen, Willie Mae Drayton. I just want to give my love and sympathy to the Drayton family and say if it weren't for Willie Mae Drayton my beautiful Children Kassidy Drayton and Lawrence "Tripp" Drayton III would not be here. May she rest peacefully as her descendants continue her legacy.
