Moore - John Marcus Foster, Jr., 65, of Moore, SC, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Spartanburg, SC on March 2, 1956, he was son of the late John Marcus Foster, Sr. and Maggie Lee Shelton Foster.

Marcus was a 1974 graduate of Dorman High School and a 1979 graduate of Spartanburg Technical College.

Marcus was a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy; he served in Operation Desert Storm. Marcus was also the Broker-in-Charge and owner of Clayton Marcus Realty.

He was a Deacon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Sylvia Hunnicutt Foster; two children, Lakecia Foster Stickney (Alim) of Silver Spring, MD, and Clayton Foster of Moore, SC; four grandchildren, Chanya and Miracle Foster of Spartanburg, SC, Kaydon Foster of Moore, SC and Alim "Deuce" Stickney, II of Silver Spring, MD; his siblings, Sandra Maynes, Mary Byers and Harrison Foster all of Moore, SC and Lynne English (Theodore) and Sharella Caldwell both of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Ida and Johnny Adams.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC.

A Celebration of the Life of John Marcus Foster, Jr. will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 502 S. Daniel Morgan Ave., Spartanburg, SC. Burial with Military rites will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC. Services will be streamed via Facebook Live at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Spartanburg.
