Obituary For Jerry Nesbit

It was in the early morning hour when then angels came down and whispered gently in Jerry’s ear, “Well done good and faithful servant….”

Jerry Nesbit, 53, of Portsmouth, Virginia peacefully passed away on Saturday , February 27, 2021 at home with his loving wife.

Jerry affectionately known as “Big Jerry” was the second child born to the late Herman & Fern Nesbit on July 7th, 1967 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Jerry attended Portsmouth Public Schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, June 1988.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Mr. Herman Nesbit and Mrs. Fern Nesbit and his beloved older brother Eric L. Nesbit.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and dedicated wife, Mrs. Tanysha Ne’chelle Ragin-Nesbit; his loving son and daughter in-law, Mr. Jerry Jerod Nesbit and Mrs. Jekiah Nesbit; three grandchildren, Aubrey Marshall, Jamon Carver and Jerry Jerod Nesbit Jr.; a loving daughter-figure who held a very special place in his heart, Miss Diatta Coletrane; mother and father-in-law. Mr. & Mrs. Wayne and Alva James; a brother-in-law, Mr. Quantez Parrish; a sister-in-law, Miss Desiray Dameron; loving and adoring grandparents-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ronchester Ellis; one maternal aunt, Mrs. Ethel Copeland; his favorite uncle, Mr. Tim Nesbit; three paternal aunts, Mrs. Joanne Hill, Mrs. Fran Faulk and Mrs. Lynn Harding; last but not least — a person who he held close to his heart, his special friend, Ms. Thetta Stackhouse and the Stackhouse Family; a host of cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
