Mr. Jerome Williams, or “Butt”, as he was affectionately called by his close family, was born on February 13, 1966, in Barnwell County, SC, to Annie Houston Williams and the late Robert Lee Williams. He was called to his reward abruptly in his home on March 5, 2021. Jerome was united in holy wedlock to Barbara Jamison-Williams on April 11, 1992, and to this union two children were born, Brandon and Jerome.

At an early age, Jerome was baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit of God at Young Rosemary Missionary Baptist Church, where he continued to be elevated. He served as a devoted choir member, Bongo Player, Trustee, Deacon, and President of the Usher Board. “Cool Rome”, as he was called in his early high school years, was always a sporty young man. His forever “SMILE” and witty spirit will always be there, because he always made his presence known.

He graduated from Williston Elko High School in 1984 and continued his education with Denmark Technical College. He soon became interested in serving his country, so he enlisted in the SC National Guard (ARMY), where he graduated basic training in Fort Jackson, SC. Jerome served his country until he was honorably discharged and came back home to his family after serving in the Iraq War. He held many positions in the community, by which he was well-respected.

Jerome made his trademark in the working world by beginning to work at Dayco Corp., in Williston, SC. He later became a Correctional Officer for the SC Department of Corrections in Allendale, SC, and lastly, working with Allied Services in Aiken, SC.

Jerome leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Barbara Jamison-Williams, of the home; two sons, Brandon Antonio and Jerome De’Andre Williams, also of the home; his dear mother, Annie Houston Williams, of Williston, SC; one sister, Sherry (Frank III) Jenkins, of Augusta, GA; one granddaughter, Z’Naurhee Braneigh Khils Perkins, of Greenville, SC; one goddaughter, Maia Sa’Leah Cummings, of Williston, SC; two special friends, John Johnson, of Barnwell, SC, and Judge Bryant, of Williston, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends may call the residence of his mother, Ms. Annie J. Williams 178 Halford Street, Williston, SC 29853 or Simmons Funeral Home of Williston, Inc. & Cremation Service 13188 Main Street, Williston, SC 29853, (803) 266-7808.

What a contagious smile! What a dedicated worker! I appreciated your kindness, service, and finding the best hotdogs for PTA Sales during sales at Recreation Basketball games and PTA Festival. We know not the last time we will see each other, but it was in the house of worship where I saw you last. Peace to the family, Amen. Alease Walters
