Obituary For J.D. Livsey

Mr. J. D. Robert “Buck” Livsey, 71, of 204 Leslie Drive Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at his residence. He was born on March 13, 1950 in Cleveland County, NC to the late O.T. Livsey, Sr. and the late Florine Hughes Livsey.

“Buck” as he was affectionately called was a self-employed mechanic for most of his life. His love for working on cars was something that he was passionate about from a young age. He loved riding horses and going to rodeos. He also enjoyed cooking and could he burn!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Ann Livsey and Sara Littlejohn; his brothers, O. T. Livsey, Jr. and Curley “Curt” Livsey and a son, James Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Arthea Livsey; three daughters, Ebony Eaves, Amy Eaves and Cassandra Eaves Miller (Brandon); two sons, Arthur Eaves and Benjamin Carson; a very special nephew reared in the home, Clifton Moses; sixteen grandchildren; four sisters, Pearl Strong, Cammie Pressley (Beuford), Shirley Brooks (Willis) and Dorothy Hosch; his mother-in-law, Wanda Guest; four sisters-in-law, Sandra Smith (Jerry) and Toni Eaves, Michelle Livsey and Deidre Livsey; three brothers-in-law, Albert Petty, Perez Guest (Angela) and Chris Guest (Tim) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Livsey will be private. He can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
