Sister Blanch Kern was born August 32, 1919 to Branch and Alma Patterson-Kern. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Avil Chapel Church of God. She later united with the Center Church of God and remained a faithful member until her health failed. She made a peaceful transition on Saturday morning, March 27, 2021 at the Attala County Nursing Center in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Branch and Alma Kern; Brothers: Elvige, Otis, Finest, and Earnest Kern; Sisters: Willie, Lillian, Allie, Lenora, Clara, Mable, Edna, Essie, Canary, Flora, and Velma.

She leaves to cherish her memories many nieces and nephews. She raised two as her own: Allie V. Adams and Alma Jean Harmon. As she grew older her niece, Thelma Winters made sure that all her needs were met. When Thelma's health prevented her to continue, her niece Lessie Maxwell took over. For several years, Lessie traveled from Vicksburg each month to shop for groceries and pick up her medications. Also, her niece, Faye Edwards traveled from Gulfport, MS to help take care of her. She often called on her younger first cousin, Deacon Lucious Patterson and demanded that he come "Right Now."
