Obituary For Earnest "Bill" Garrison

Earnest Garrison, 72, of Madison, NC died March 20, 2021. Public viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at Perry- Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Collins Cemetery.

Earnest “Bill” Garrison, gained his wings in the early morning of March 20, 2021. “Bill” was born on November 7, 1948 in Rockingham County to the late Charlie Garrison and Minnie Cardwell Garrison. “Bill” was a veteran of the US Army and obtained a degree in Business Administration for Jefferson College. He later worked for Burlington Industries before working at E-Z Stop in Ridgeway, VA for 25 years. Rouses’ Group Home Inc. is where he called home and happily devoted 34 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Garrison.

“Bill” leaves to cherish his memories: his sons; Robert Penn “Donnie”, Stoneville, NC, Earnest Garrison (Ann Nowlin), Mayodan, NC, Darron Garrison “Deechie” (Kay), Eden, NC, Maurice Moore (Kia), Greensboro, NC, his only daughter; Burrell G. Craig (Shannon), Mayodan, NC, his special nieces and nephews; Charlotte Cress (Robert), Charles Garrison (VeRonda), Lanette Carter (Harry). Last but not least, his special brother-in-law, Willie (Reed) Penn, who is a fellow U.S. Army Veteran who served alongside him in the military. “Papa-Yo” was very special to each one of his grandchildren. He leaves behind a squad of 5 grandsons, 14 granddaughters, 4 great grandsons, 5 Great granddaughters, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

We will forever remember all of the values that you instilled in us! My brothers and I have always been close, but with you becoming ill made us even closer and now we lean on each other daily.
