The Obituary

Mrs. Tina Lee Jackson, (Scruggs), was born January 03, 1927 to the union of General and Alberta Scruggs in Brooks County, Georgia. Tina received her education from the Brooks County School system. Tina married John Frank Jackson in 1948, sharing life as one for 61 years. To this marriage union was born one son, (John), two daughters, (Mamie and Kathy) and avowed daughter, (Lila). John and Tina moved their family to Sandusky, Ohio in 1952 where Tina became a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Tina held many titles as a servant of God, from the missionary board to the Mother of the church until her and her husband moved back home in 1996. Tina was employed with Providence Hospital for 38 years and retired in 1993. Tina was re-instated in her childhood church, a church she always loved, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where Pastor Washington is the Senior Pastor. There at New Hope, she was one of the Mothers in the church. Tina was preceded in death by her Father and Mother; General and Alberta Scruggs; one son; John Frank Jackson Jr. Six brothers: Melvin Scruggs,(Rosa), James Scruggs,(Christine), William Scruggs, General Scruggs, Wonder Scruggs and Richmond Scruggs. Two Brother-in-laws; Theodore Spencer and Emanuel Collier; Two sisters; Sallie Collier, (Emanuel) and Mamie Hill; Two Son-in-laws; Steve Rodriguez and Bobby Haney. Tina leaves an ocean of memories to her two daughters; Mamie Delores Rodriguez, and Kathy Ann Haney, and avowed daughter Lila B. Belle; Eight Grand-Children; Chandra Jackson, Tony Evans, Ranaldo Haney,(Diamond), Robert Haney, Kevonia Haney,(Lamar Spivey) Martina, Haney,(Willie Shaw) Bobby Belle, Danna Belle. Twenty Great Grands; Two godsons; Curtis Johnson Jr. and Steve Irby; Two goddaughters; Julie Hunter, Nanlitha Myers. One sister; Gladys Spencer; (Thomas); Four sister-in laws, Irene Scruggs, Hallie Scruggs, Evelyn Jackson and Louis Scruggs. One brother-in-law; Horace Brown, (Bonnie Faye) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 27,2021 at 11AM on the lawn of New Hope M.B. Church with Pastor Curtis Johnson, eulogist. A private burial will follow in the Ham City Church Cemetery.
