Obituary For Mr. Perry Ray Thomas

The Obituary

Perry Ray Thomas was born April 7, 1956 to the late Bishop Sherman Thomas and Mary Strickland Thomas. He graduated from Ragland High School in 1976. He worked for the National Cement Company in Ragland, AL for 23 years. After retirement he worked for Goodwill and Piggly Wiggly Grocery in Ashville, AL. Perry was a friendly, but quiet person. He loved to fish, hunt, and paint cars. He also loved to build his own special motorcycles. Perry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Stanley Thomas and his grandson, Caleb Martin. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family: One son, Joshua (Traci) Thomas; Two daughters, RayChelle Orr and Brandi (Thomas) Bothwell; Sisters, Yvonne Hillman and Darlene (JC) Frost; Brothers, Sherman Thomas, Apostle Marshal (Patricia) Thomas, Donald Thomas and Sam (Kia) Thomas; Aunt, Veronica Hill; Grandchildren, Zariah Orr, Lindsey Martin, Sasha Bothwell, Jaden Buttram and Skylan Thomas; A host of nieces and nephews. Special friends, John Bradford, Sharron Bradford, Linda and Angel Negron, Norman Montgomery, Leroy Bozeman, Felix Evans, Ricky Brewster, Erica Mostella, Beverly Jones, Joe (Shake) Bothwell, the late Keith Thomas, and the late Glover Cook. Special Thanks to the Medical Staff that took care of him. St. Vincent’s St. Clair, St. Vincent’s East, Grandview Medical Center, Encompass Health Lakeshore Rehab Hospital, UAB Hospital, Citizens Baptist Medical Center, Northside Medical Associates, Select Specialty Hospital, Compassus Hospice, St. Vincent’s Hospice, Choice Home Care, Physical Therapy.

Public visitation will be Saturday, April 3, 2021 10 A.M.-12:30 P.M. at Greater Grace Church, Ashville, Al.

Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Ashville City Cemetery Bishop Terry A. Jones Officiating and Apostle Marshal Thomas as Eulogist. Arrangements under the direction of West Gadsden Funeral Home. 256-549-0004
