Obituary For Guy Boyd, Jr.

GUY BOYD, JR., “KING” was born in Chicod, North Carolina to the .late Guy Boyd, Sr. and the late Irene Boyd. He had four siblings; Gloria Bradley, Mary Taylor, Marvin Boyd and Yvonne Vines.

King relocated to Pennsylvania and fell in love with Dorothy King. They had one child together, Veronica Angetelli King and they also reared his daughter, Satanya Lindsey and his son, Jermaine Angetelli Brown (mother, Mae Brown).

He was a dedicated entrepreneur for many years. He loved to cook, was an excellent marksman, loved to golf and shoot pool. He also enjoyed listening to music by James Brown, Otis Redding, Al Green, Fats Domino, Ray Charles and Wilson Pickett.

Having accepted the Lord as his personal Savior, Guy was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He also enjoyed reading scripture with his sister, Gloria.

When he was not working hard, Guy always had a joke for someone or about someone. His wit and intelligence were matched with a smooth demeanor that could be seen with the way he talked and the way he dressed.

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Guy Boyd, Jr., at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 23 days transitioned into eternal life.

He leaves to celebrate his life and to cherish precious memories of him, a host of close family members, grandchildren and friends. He will be missed by many and remembered by all.

Guy's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, with Public Viewing 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM and Worship Service at 12 Noon. There will be further Services and Burial in Greenville, North Carolina.
