Obituary For Robert Lee "Skinny" Batten, Sr.

Bishop Robert Lee Batten, Sr., affectionately known as “Skinny” to family and friends, was born on August 23, 1941, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to Johnnie Batten and Goldie M. Batten.

Bishop Batten was a graduate of Pinellas High School, Class of 1962, and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was employed with the City of Clearwater in the Public Service Department. Bishop Batten had a passion for fishing, walking, race cars, and loved movies.

Bishop Robert Lee Batten, Sr. departed this life on March 26, 2021.

He leaves fond memories to his son: Robert L. Batten, Jr. (Vernice); daughters: Cassandra Roundtree (Earl) and Phyllis Crayton; uncle: Leon Peavy (Lillian); brothers: Cornell Cunningham (Margret), Thomas Brooks (Winona), Abram Brooks, Leon Brooks, John Batten (Terry) and Donald Batten (Donna); sisters: Lulamae Palmer, Gwendolyn Batten and Fanny Williams; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
