Obituary For Richard Fugate

Richard Fugate

formerly Tazewell - Richard Fugate, age 67, formerly of Tazewell, TN, died March 30, 2021, at his residence on Garfield Avenue, Knoxville, TN. He was born April 13, 1953, to the union of Will and Clydean Riley Fugate. He was a graduate of Claiborne County High School, Class of 1971. Richard was a member of Tri-Star Carpentry Union and a retiree of Rust Engineering.

He was preceded in death by children, Regina and Christina Fugate; parents, Will and Clydean Fugate; and sister, Judy Jackson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: Sons, Shannon Mize and Aderrius Fugate of Knoxville, TN, daughters; Ronetta (Noah) Poellnitz of Bloomington, IN, Senitrea Henderson of Alcoa, TN; brothers, Cobie Fugate of Knoxville, TN, Ronald and Donald Fugate of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Marilyn Fugate, Arlena (James) Glasgow and special sister, Charlene (Rev., Dr. Charles) McAfee, of Knoxville, TN and Anita (Emanuel) Martin of Chattanooga, TN; several grand-children, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

Receiving of friends will be Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 11:00 -11:30 am with the Celebration of Life to follow, at Unity Mortuary, Knoxville, TN. Rev., Dr. Joseph B. Smith, Eulogist. The final resting place will immediately follow at Will Fugate Family Farm, 456 Sulphur Hollow Rd., Tazewell, TN.

The family respectfully request that COVID-19 guidelines be followed.

Richard will be missed. I will miss seeing him come to Mrs. Frances with his plate go get his Sunday dinner. We will all miss that silly grin and his laughter. He was a lovable person that would help you anytime you needed him. Praying God gives your Family comfort and peace during this time.
