Obituary For Mrs. Cora Mae Tillman

Mrs. Cora Mae Lindsay Tillman, 81, of High Point, NC, departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Westchester Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born March 2, 1940 in McFarlan (Anson County), NC, to the late Edmond Lindsay and Mary Lou Watson Lindsay. Cora is now reunited with her mother and father; her youngest son, Lonnie Bernard Tillman; brothers, Edward “June” Lindsay, Sr., Freddie Lindsay and James Calvin Lindsay; a special niece, Lelia Tillman McDougle and nephew, Marion Thomas Tillman both of whom were raised in the home.

Cora united in marriage to Lonnie Tillman. After relocating to High Point, NC, she worked at High Point College as a supervisor in the kitchen. Afterwards, she was employed with W & J Rives, where she happily retired. Cora loved planting flowers, but also loved to cook with a passion. She was a person with a kind heart and would do anything for anyone.

She was a faithful member of Hallelujah Baptist Church until she failed ill in 2017.

Surviving to cherish precious memories are her husband of 61 years, Lonnie Tillman; her son, John (Traci) Tillman all of High Point, NC; granddaughters, Courtney Tillman of Maryland, Jewel Tillman of High Point, NC; special god-granddaughter, Zyia Baker; seven sisters, Emma (Lewis) Townsend, Elaine Harris Rich, Betty Townsend, Annie Ruth Lindsay, Lenora Evans, Doris Lindsay and Gussie Lindsay; two brothers, Charles (Karen) Lindsay and Michael Lindsay all of High Point, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A private funeral service will be held, Friday, April 9, 2021 at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 903 East Kearns Ave. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Mrs. Tillman may be viewed on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
