In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her step-father, Bishop Robert L. Hairston; one daughter, Trevia Carter; one sister, Cledith Stockton; and one brother, Jimmy Tarpley.
Elizabeth was a member of the Greater New Bethel Apostolic Church. She retired from Tultex Corporation in 1986, after many years of service.
Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory are, one son, Issac (Sharon) Carter of Martinsville, VA; two daughters, Shaun Bradley and Lori (Victor) Hairston both of Martinsville, VA; one brother, Wyoming Tarpley, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Frances Pettie of Rock Creek, NJ, and Helen (Rudy) Fulber of Inglewood, NJ; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Greater New Bethel Apostolic Church with Dr. Charles Whitfield officiating and Brother Renado Hairston, Eulogist. A public viewing will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering and social distancing is required. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Shaun Bradley, 700 Zee St, Martinsville, VA. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens.
