Demetrius Dudley, 51, of Peeples Rd., Oak Ridge, NC, departed this life on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Lenox Hill Hospital, Manhattan, NY. He was born in Virginia on December 7, 1969, the son of Anthony Schoolfield and the late Verneter Dudley Royal.

Demetrius was a graduate of Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY. He was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Inc., and a member of the Hofstra Athletics Basketball Team.

Demetrius leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Purcell Green-Dudley of the home; one daughter, Skylar Raquel Dudley of Oak Ridge, NC; his father; Anthony (Louise) Schoolfield of Martinsville, VA; two sisters, Monique S. Galloway (Geno) of High Point, NC, and Sonya Kay Nowlin of Eden, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Carver Memorial Gardens, 2256 Carver Rd., Martinsville, VA, with Pastor Dwight Mack, Eulogist. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing is required. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hour of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
