Life is but a stopping place - a pause in what's to be, a resting place along the road, to sweet eternity. We aII have different journeys with different paths along the way. We aII were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay...

Our destination is a place, far greater than we know. For some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow; and when the journey finally ends, we'II claim a great reward and find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord.

Deacon Jessie Lee Gray's earthly journey began July 1, 1925, born in Lafayette, Alabama in Chambers County to Annie Lee Gray and his biological father, Guy lsom. He was the second oldest of three siblings.

The host of family members who will welcome our Father to their heavenly home: his daughters, Elizabeth Gray Maull White and Deatrice Gray; mother to six of his eight children, Jessie Eva Simpson; his mother, Annie Lee Whitlow; step-father, Ruth Whitlow; a unique loving brother, Jeff Hollway, his son-in- law Joe C. Ransaw; grandson Steven Abel, and great - grandsons Derrien Woods and Xavier Gray.

He is survived by one son, Chester Gray (Bessie) Murphy, Texas; seven daughters, Annie Lee Pierce, Geneva Whitney, and Janice Ransaw of Gadsden, Alabama; Sarah Heath (Lee) Weaver, Alabama; Regina Adams, Decatur, Alabama, JoAnn Higgins, Birmingham, Alabama; and Susan Higgins, Sandy Springs, Ga.; a devoted sister, Mother Beatrice Pinkney, Gadsden, Alabama; and two son-in-law's, Donnie Whitney and Earl White, Gadsden, Alabama.

Serviced for Deacon Gray will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 12 o'clock Noon at Saint Paul Overcoming Church of God, 523 Pioneer Street I Gadsden, Alabama Gadsden, AL
