In Remembrance of Marsha Lee Cravens Gilliam 4/1/1955 - 4/3/2021 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3) It is said that Prime Minister Winston Churchill planned every detail of his funeral. One somewhat strange request that he made was for two buglers to play after the benediction. When questioned, "Why two buglers?" He replied, (paraphrased) I want one bugler to play "Taps,'' the traditional military signal played at the end of the day. But then immediately after "Taps" has ended, I want another bugler to play "Reveille," the stirring call that awakens the troops at the beginning of a new day. When "Reveille" is played the soldiers understand that it's time to get up! Family, today at Marsha's homegoing service, the trumpeter will play "Taps," but just know that another trumpeter is in heaven awaiting the signal to begin playing "Reveille!" For the Bible declares, "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound," and God will declare unto those who have preceded us in death, "Good morning, it's time to get up"! Marsha Gilliam, because of your dedicated Christian service, for your devotion, your love, your spirit, your teachings, your wisdom, your stewardship, just for being faithful over a few things, we offer today our final salute to you, Bravo Zulu!, or as we in the church would articulate, "Servant! Well done!" Attention! Echo!Tango!Sierra! Soldier! Dismissed! And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Reverend Kimberly Martin Greenwood, S.C.

To the Gilliam Family: I didn't know your Wife, your Mother, I only met her once, and she was lovely. However, I do know one of her best friends, when she spoke of Marsha, she would light up with so much joy. She shared so many wonderful stories about her best friend that I felt I was a part of their circle.
