Walter Alonzo Miller Jr.

Strawberry Plains - Miller, Walter Alonzo Jr- age 86 of Strawberry Plains departed this life on April 10, 2021 peacefully at home. He was preceded in death by parents, Walter Alonzo Sr and Mary Ruth Miller. He was a faithful member of Boyd's Creek Church of God and Goodes Temple AME Zion Church. Survivors- wife of 67 years, Ernestine Miller; daughter, Teresa Miller Brabson; grandchildren, Brandon Brabson and Brandi Troutt; great grandchildren, Isaiah Flemming and Traven Carter; brother Aaron 'Duke Miller and wife Jamesena; sister Shirley Miller and sister in law Wilhemenia Miller. He also leaves a host of relatives and many friends. He was a professional truck driver, retiring with over 1 million miles and was a renowned auto restorator. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, riding motorcycles, Nascar and crossword puzzles. The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Covenant hospice (Tina, Rita and Maggie) for the quality service they provided. The family will receive friends on Wed April 14 from 4-7 pm at Unity Mortuary in Knoxville where Mr. Miller will lie-in-repose. The family and friends will meet Thurs April 15 at 2 p.m. for Graveside Service at Eastview Memorial Gardens at 1320 Andrew Johnson Hwy, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871 with Rev. Bernice Osborne officiating. A white dove release will conclude the service. Unity Mortuary is honored to serve the Miller, Brabson, and Troutt families.
