Obituary For Eli Smith

Eli Smith of Spindale, NC was born May 5, 1937 to the late Worth Hicks Smith and Martha Margree Logan Smith. He departed this life on April 16, 2021. Eli was employed as a Card Room Supervisor for Burlington Industries for many years. He was a faithful Deacon, a member of the NAACP, Christian Burial Aide, Mason, Emergency Medical Technician, Sunday School Superintendent, President of the Usher Board and Little League Coach. Eli was very active in his Church and Community. He never believed in doing anything halfway. His famous sayings were “Anything worth doing, is worth doing well” and “You get out exactly what you put in”. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Mary Davis, Mable Miller, Vera Platt, Gladys Richardson, Lillian Lynch, Frank Smith, Albert Smith, Lucy Smith, Vernon Young, Ray Young, Michelle Hutchinson. Eli leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Carolyn Smith, children, Fitzgerald Smith (Regina), Donell Smith (Charlene), Teresa Smith, Jimmy Bristol (Doris), Diane Logan (Joe), Beverly Mosley, Anthony Young, his siblings, Hicks Smith (Barbara Ann) of Camp Springs Maryland, Herbert Smith of Brooklyn, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
