Roy Lee "Tootsie" Wright, 81, of Salem, AL passed Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in Salem, AL.

Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Canaan A.M.E. Church Cemetery with Rev. Vernon McLeod, officiating. Visitation is Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 12-5 p.m.

Mr. Wright was born June 22, 1939 in Seale, AL to the late A.C. Miles, Sr. and Elizabeth Miles. He was a member of Canaan A.M.E. Church , Seale, AL where he served with an humble spirit on the Steward Board and Trustee Board until his health began to fail.

He completed his early education in Alabama and was employed at Uniroyal Rubber Plant, Opelika, AL for several years before he retired.

He was preceded in death by ten siblings and one special cousin, Baby Ruth Caple and two aunts.

He leaves to cherish his memories a beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Sarah Nell Wright; four children, Wounda Faye Wright, Roger (JaDon) Wright, Cynthia Wright and Royce (Lisa) Wright; seven grandchildren, Vantravius R. Chadwick, Anthony Colquitt, Arlissa B. Wright, Sarnissa K. Wright, Sharnetria J. Wright, Asia Q. Wright and Ethan Moses; two great grandchildren, A'Niah Colquitt and Saliyah J. Torbert. He was a father and Papa to several others; three sisters; seven sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law; two special extended family members, Perry Huling and Jacques Knight; a host of other relatives and friends.
