Obituary For Joseph Bernard Waight

Joseph Bernard Waight was born on October 31, 1942 in Belize City, Belize to the late Joseph S. Waight and Petrona Waight.

Joseph attended Holy Redeemer School in Belize City, Belize.

Joseph’s professional career spanned from September 1973 until he retired in June of 2004 from Indian River Foods as Lead Operator.

On April 17, 2021, Joseph hearth the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto me and rest, lay down thy weary one lay down, thy head upon my breast.” Joseph is preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Waight and Londi Waight.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Artessie McKenzie Waight; son, Floyd Edward Sears, Sr.; daughters, Tessie Ann Sears, Bridget Le’Shawn Waight, Dessiree Dementra Waight(Robert J.)Wiley, Jr.; sisters, Dahlia Babb and Aurora Waight both of Hawthorne, California; brother, Alexander Waight of New York; grandchildren, Cornelius Emanuel Sears Sr., Cornella Shawntae Sears, KuTrillion Wiley(Nathaniel, III)Morris, Joe Edward Sears, Murcus J. Williams, Shaquille D. Williams, Melvin Williams III, Robert J. Wiley III, Dessiree Artessie Wiley, Adrian George Moorer, Jr., A’Dreion De’Shawn Moorer; 10 Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nettie Mae Martin; brother-in-law, Millar McKenzie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends that will miss him dearly.

Public viewing for Joseph Bernard Waight will take place on Friday, April 23, 2021 between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services to commerorate his life will convene on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 11:00am.

Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff.
