Lawanna Ann Brown, 83, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 in Bowie.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 23, at the White Family Funeral Home of Bowie.

Lawanna was born December 1, 1937 in Waurika, OK to Bert and Verna (Stewart) Robinson. She graduated from Bowie High School, and was a life long resident of Bowie. Lawanna married Donald Brown on September 29, 1962 in Montague, TX. She was on the first women's basketball team to win state in 1955.

Lawanna was a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed parties, music, dancing, and day trips. Lawanna loved her family dearly and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Brown, brothers, Harold Robinson and James “Nig” Robinson.

Lawanna is survived by her; daughters Raydonna Hutto and husband Eddy and Ria Reynolds and husband Carl, all of Bowie; sons Richard Brown and wife Marnie, Randall Brown and wife Mary, Ronald Brown, all of Bowie, Robert Robinson of Oklahoma City, OK, and JJ Franklin of Bowie; grandchildren Lori Russell, Amanda Hutto, Lacey Whatley, Kirsten Wallace, Kellie Haley, Abbie Brown, Gwen Huber, Kutter Brown, Jacob Brown, and Levi Orton; and great-grandchildren Reece Whatley, Ryder Whatley, Waylon Russell, Zander Smith, Audrey Huber, Jade Huber and Harlen Orton; brother, Ed Robinson and wife Viola of Sunset.
