Mrs. Annabelle Doston Thompson, 58

Annabelle Doston Thompson departed life on April 1, 2021. She was born on August 6, 1962 to the late Mr. Walter James Doston, Sr. of Daytona Beach, FL and the late Mrs. Mary Lizzie Freeman Doston of Morven, GA. She received her education from Cochran County High and numerous certificates and accolades from Valdosta Technical Institution. Annabelle was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church of Morven, GA. She loved watching television, playing games on her phone, spending time with her family and she loved God.

In 1988, Annabelle reunited with her childhood friend Nathan Thompson and they were inseparable and became a union on June 17, 1991 by Rev. Eddie Lee Jones. In 1995, Annabelle and her family moved to Morven where she later gained employment with the Cook County Board of Transportation as a bus driver. As a driver for 15.5 years, she was a mom, aunt and caregiver to many children and became close with many drivers.

Annabelle leaves her memories to cherish with her husband Nathan Thompson, Valdosta, GA; two loving children Shameka Burch, Valdosta, GA and Jonathan Doston (Courtney), Sumter, SC; four beautiful grandchildren Quentaviues, German, Terria, Landon Doston and Christian Burch; one loving brother Walter James Doston, Jr. (Evon), Valdosta, GA; two god sons Tyshawn Thomas and Michael Hoskins; three aunts Iris Merritt, Annie Freeman and Evelyn Filer; brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby Mobley (Harriett), James Mobley (Linda), Ann Reynolds (Charlie), Rose Mobley, Diane Mobley, Brenda Reynolds, Johnny Mobley (Sharon), Issac Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Erlene Mobley, Arlene Grant, Justine Scott and Albert Mobley. Annabelle was also preceded in death by her, mother-in-law Sadie Thompson, Roosevelt Mobley, grandson James Edward German IV, three brothers-in-law Phillip Mobley, Morris Mobley, Hubert Mobley and one sister-in-law Vanessa Thompson. She also leaves a host of cousins, other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services were Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home lawn in Quitman with Rev. Eddie L. Jones officiating. Burial followed at the Pineview Cemetery in Morven. Although she is gone, she will never be forgotten. Bell lives on in my heart because she was my sister of my heart. we were first cousins by birth but we became sisters in our hearts, and I will always love and remember her as such. Rest In Paradise my sister. one day we will be together again.
