My prayers go out to his wife and family. When I heard the news last week my head dropped and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He was a great guy in my 3 years of knowing him as the security guard at SunTrust. Just seeing him in late October of 2020 alive and well and now 6 months later he is called home to God. Rest in peace my brother. Pierce Callaham, Jr.

To say Tony was an amazing individual would be an understatement. I looked forward to coming in to Tony playing his music and smiling. He genuinely cared about everyone he knew. He always encouraged me in my volunteering as a big sister and really anything I had going on. I will miss his smiling face. I was blessed to know him and lucky enough to meet his lovely wife and beautiful daughter yesterday. As his daughter put it best, keep talking about him to keep his spirit alive. We will definitely do that. He was such an asset at Riverview. Rest in Peace. Amy Stamper

Tony was always the light that you would see first every morning when we arrived to work at TRUIST. Playing his music for us, greeting us with a smile and opening doors for everyone. He was a beautiful soul and he will genuinely be missed. From our talks about our love of cruising to our lengthy talks about our love of ol skool music. Loved his vibrant and caring attitude that he shared with us all on a daily basis. Rest easy my friend. I will miss you dearly. Mrs. C. Winstead-Edwards

Although, I never had the chance to meet you I've been lucky enough to be friends with your daughter. She loved/loves you and was there with you the whole time and from my observation you put up a great fight and i'm so blessed to have know your linage and can see how you were such a great man from the legacy you left behind. I know one day our paths will cross as I keep seeing red birds since the day you transitioned. I'll always be a friend to your daughter and help watch over her. Rest peacefully Mr.Willis -SRoss

Peggy, Peete and Willis families, I am so sadden to hear of Tony's demise. I last saw him at the Northside Reunion several years ago at Battery Park. We chatted, asked about each other's families and was just happy to see each other. Tony was such a great guy! Warm, friendly and kind are only a few words to describe him. He flashed an incandescent smile that warmed your heart. Peggy, you were the love of his life and I know your children and grandchild were too! I pray that God's abounding love will embrace you and bring comfort at this difficult time. Please know, my family and I are thinking of you. Peace be with you...May loving memories be held close to your heart and bring sprinkles of joy... Lovingly Submitted, Your Friend; Felecia Woodson Coleman Class of 1975, TJHS

I am heartbroken from the passing of Tony. I worked with Tony off and on for 25 years. He always talked so proudly about his children with a big smile on his face. He couldn't believe how fast his son became a man and was going into the military and how his daughter was so successful in her career after college. He talked about how close they are still as adults as when they were children. He talked about how he met his wife and his best friend all as if it was yesterday. My deepest heartfelt sympathies go out to his whole family and friends. Tony was an amiable person that I am glad to have called my friend. You will surely be missed.
