The Obituary
Douglas Clay Hunt was born in Etowah County, Gadsden, AL, at Baptist Memorial Hospital to Mozelle McEntyre Hunt and Jim Hunt on July 15, 1954. Douglas Hunt was better known as “Boss Hog.” Douglas got the name “Boss Hog” from working at AVCO Meat Company for years. He also worked at Tyson Foods and Western Sizzler.
Douglas married to his late wife, Vera Hunt, in 1975 and three children came from this union. Douglas resided in Alabama all his life. He loved his music and his cars, but most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren.
Douglas is preceded in death by his late wife,Vera Hunt; Daughter, Tywkeitha Hunt; Mother and Father, Mozzelle and Jim Hunt; Sisters, Jimmy, Cora and Annie Hunt; Granddaughter, Haylee; Grandson, Makai; and 2 great grandsons, Gavin and Jaylon.
Douglas leaves to mourn his memory his son Derric Hunt, daughters Melissa Lauderdale, Camilia Hunt, Kamila Player ; Grandchildren ; Quiona, Shamar, Neahnija, Nickles, Nijahe E, Dasiona, Devon, Nijahe W, Alijah, Rayona, Shawn, La’derrius, Bradley, Denham, Derion, Jaylon and host of great grandchildren; His sister, Sylvia Turner; Brother, Jim (Margret) Hunt; Sister-in-laws, Deborah Isaac, Denetrice (Chris) Johnson; Brother- in-law, Reginald Holt. A host of nieces and nephews. His special niece, Margarita Hunt; Special friends, Patricia Murray, Valerie Player, and Sharon Smith and a host of other friends and family.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Mission Baptist Church.
