Roosevelt Opie Johnson III was born on June 28, 1962 in Attalla, Alabama to the late Aileen V. Johnson-Cooper and Mr. Roosevelt McCloud II. After the passing of his Biological father at an early age, Mr. Willie Cooper assumed the fatherly role and provided guidance to Roosevelt. He confessed Christ at an early age at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Attalla, Alabama. Roosevelt was educated in the Attalla City School District where he graduated from the Etowah County High School Class of 1980.

In 2002, Roosevelt became the pastor of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Albertville, Alabama where he served faithfully until his death. He was the 2nd Vice Moderator of the Wills Creek Baptist Association. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education from the Birmingham Easonian Baptist Bible College in May 2017.
