Graveside service for Johnnie Russell, 82, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1145 Chambers County Road 004, Waverly, AL 36879, Reverend Anthony McKinney will officiate.

Ms. Russell, who passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born January 1, 1939 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.

Public viewing for Ms. Russell will be Friday, April 30, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Edward (Laura) Russell of Opelika, AL and Sonnie James Russell of Dothan, AL; adopted daughter, Aaliyah Stone of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Lizzie Mae Holly and Yvonne Stone both of Opelika, AL; two brothers, John Russell and Earnest (Barbara Ann) Russell both of Opelika, AL; a special friend, Christine England; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
