Obituary For Mary Alice Murphy

Mrs. Mary Murphy, 76, of Columbus, GA passed Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held at. 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, May 1, 2021 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bishop Joseph Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery, Columbus, GA. Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 from 2-5 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.

The Book of Life for Mrs. Mary Alice Murphy opened on the 21Day of February, 1945 in Columbus, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Joe Jones, Sr. and Mrs. Alice Kennedy Jones.

Mary Alice obtained her formal education in the Muscogee County School System. She was a diligent and faithful Member of Evangel Temple First Born Church of The Living God, Inc. in Columbus Georgia.

She was employed for over 30 years with the Columbus Regional Medical Center where she was a dietician.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to a late Joseph “Jaybird" Dixon, this union was blessed with two daughters. Later she was united in Holy Matrimony to Lieutenant Murphy.

On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, God called His faithful servant Home to rest. She passed at her home. Blessed are they Who die in the Lord, for they shall rest from their labor. She Was also preceded in death by three brothers Walter Jones, Joe Jones Jr, Johnny Jones, two sisters, Mrs. Julia Darrisaw, and Joe Ann Henderson.

Surviving her departure with cherished memories, are: Two daughters, Vickie A. Hall ( Alvin) of Columbus Ga. Tiwauna Williams ( Joseph) of Columbus Ga., two grand children, TaKesha L. Williams-Lynn ( Anthony), Robert J.L. Williams I; one great grand, Serenity A. Williams Lynn; one sister, Evangelist Shirley Jones of Columbus Ga; Aloving aunt, Hattie Sumbry; of Columbus Ga.; one uncle Tommie L. Johnson of Columbus Ga.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends
